Wildflower collages
These collages have in common three elements: a print from a 1932 guidebook, handmade paper, and calligraphy cut from paper.
I bought several copies of the pocket guidebook at the Pennsylvania Native Plant Society annual meeting fundraiser. In the '30s wildflowers flourished close by, and this book was a five and dime field guide.
The papers are either handmade or hand decorated. I include my paper and collected papers in each collage.
The final element is my calligraphy of the Latin name cut with an Xacto blade.
All are 7 x 5" in 14 x 11" mats and 15 x 12" frames.
